Nothing works without breakfast. For me, it's the most important meal of the day. These are my tips for a healthy start to your working day.

You can't start the day without breakfast either? Welcome to the club! Without food in the morning, I just can't get going. My stomach growls when I get going. The whole morning I lack strength and concentration.

Breakfast prepares the body for the day. During the night, our organism has a lot to do. While you are in dreamland, it is at work. It produces glucose to maintain the functions of our organs.

No wonder you are hungry in the morning.

If you forgo the first meal of the day, you may encourage the accumulation of fat reserves. Here, however, opinions vary widely. Some studies have shown that people who eat a healthy, balanced breakfast are less likely to have weight problems. Other studies say the opposite.

From my experience I can say: If I don't eat breakfast, nothing works. That's why I try to eat healthy and eat a lot of whole grains.

But breakfast is only really fun if you get breakfast ideas again and again. Therefore, I present to you today, what may not be missing with me in any case.

A homemade cottage cheese spread

Quark makes you strong :) The white spread can be used very versatile. It makes the muscles grow, because it contains a lot of protein. I like it very much spicy in the morning. So curd spread with various spices and herbs.

A cereal with fresh fruit and yogurt

Yes, there is muesli in which you can find dried fruit. But it doesn't really knock my socks off. It tastes much better with fresh fruit.

Cheese and eggs for breakfast

Fried egg, scrambled egg, a soft egg - yummy. When I have more time, I treat myself to recipes with egg. Because eggs are also good for building muscle. My favorite is eggs with a whole wheat bread and cottage cheese spread. Fortunately, soon again is the weekend :)

Without coffee - without me

What should definitely not be missing is a good coffee. Because without the wake-up call no one gets me out of bed. No matter how good breakfast is.

The coffee doesn't even have to be particularly strong. I like it with a large milk foam crown. In my search for a machine that can also foam my soy milk, I came across Leysieffer.

The capsule machine promises to hygienically and quickly turn plant-based milk into foam. Yummy. I just have to try that!

Compared to other machines, you can make milk foam with Leysieffer very clean. No hose that must be cleaned extra and complicated.

You place the milk under the nozzle. With very high pressure, air and hot water ensure that the milk becomes creamy. A second push of the button then brings the coffee to my much-loved cafe latte. And the day is already saved.

Little Tip: Warm the milk beforehand, then the foam lasts much longer!

A large glass of water

Yes, drinking is very important. Because I know that but still have problems to get the optimal amount, there's a glass of water in the morning. And a big one every time. If you drink enough, you feel much more energetic. So: Even if you drink coffee, a glass of water should not be missing. Because coffee actually dehydrates the body.

My No Gos at Breakfast

Of course, there are also absolute no-go's. If you eat the wrong breakfast, you will quickly become hungry again. Then you stuff yourself even more and gain weight. That's why I've listed what I do without.

Sugar has no place at the breakfast table

We simply eat far too much of it throughout the day. Sugar makes the blood sugar level go crazy and does our body no good. Sometimes you can't prevent it, especially when you eat out. However, when I have it in my own hands - I love to do without it. Instead of chocolate cream or jam, I use honey.

Ready fruit juices

Yes, there is a lot of sugar in this, too. Take a look at the list of ingredients in finished juices. It tastes much better if you press a juice yourself. Goes quickly and is healthy :)

White bread and rolls

Yes, they taste really good. I even treat myself to a roll on the weekend. But during the week, you'll look in vain for them on my table. Because the white flour makes us hungry again very quickly. Why don't you try it out for yourself: eat white bread for breakfast one day and a dark wholemeal bread the next.

My conclusion:

Without breakfast I am not responsive. If you follow a few small and easy-to-implement rules, you'll start the day healthy. Stay away from ready-made products like juices or spreads. They simply contain too much sugar. Let it taste good :)
