Making lemonade yourself is wonderfully refreshing and tingly. I show you delicious and healthy lemonade recipes that you can make yourself very quickly.

When they hear the word lemonade, most people think of an extremely sweet and artificially colored drink. Orange, yellow, red, black - sodas come in all shades. There is no question of it being healthy.

Half a liter of orange soda contains about 15 sugar cubes, tons of dyes, preservatives and no oranges.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends eating no more than 25 grams of sugar per day. One sugar cube weighs 3 grams - so half a liter of soda comes to 45 grams of sugar!

With a large glass of soda per day, you have already exceeded this value many times over.

And let's be honest: You don't really feel refreshed after a sip of lemonade. Most of the time, you're even thirstier. So stop buying soda pop!

An alternative is needed. It should be refreshing, have a lot of flavor and bring variety into our drinking habits. Making lemonade yourself is the solution!

Whether you're giving herbs, fruits or veggies the edge, homemade lemonade is simply unbeatable.

You should avoid sugar as much as possible. If you just make sure that your drinks do not contain household sugar, you have already taken a step in the right direction.

In many lemonade recipes, however, you can get by without sugar without any problems. Some, however, can tolerate a little sweetness. Especially if there are many lemons and limes in the drink.

Overall, however, I can say that if you start to consume less sugar, classic recipes and dishes will soon seem much too sweet. The body quickly gets used to it. The big advantage is that when you use less sugar, other flavors come out better.

The best sugar alternatives for your summer drinks:

  • Agave syrup*
  • Honey - it is best to heat it briefly in the microwave, then it is easier to stir in.
  • Birch sugar- has only half as many calories and doesn't send your blood sugar on a rollercoaster
  • Erythritol* is completely calorie-free
  • Maple syrup
  • Stevia
  • Coconut blossom sugar*
  • Sweet fruit

Homemade syrup is a great way to have soda on hand for longer periods of time. The syrup lasts for at least a year and can simply be infused with sparkling water.
