The basic ingredients for iced tea syrup are sugar, water and tea. Later, a few fresh fruits are added to make it really delicious.

With it you replace household sugar

With the sugar you have the option to take brown cane sugar or as an alternative come also Birch sugar*, Erythritol* or Coconut blossom sugar* in question.

If you decide to use cane sugar you have to know that it is NOT healthier than white table sugar is. It only appears to be because of the color.

We like to use the Birch sugar*, because it has far fewer calories and even fights tooth decay.

Normal sugar can be replaced by Birch sugar* and Coconut blossom sugar* Replace 1:1. Erythritol* You need a little more than normal sugar. If it is not sweet enough for you, you can sweeten it later.

Ingredients
 

  • 7 Organic lemons
  • 3 Organic oranges
  • 700 g Birch sugar
  • 800 ml Water
  • 12 Bag Black tea

Anleitung

  • Wash the lemons and oranges well. Then cut two lemons and one orange into slices. Squeeze the remaining fruit and pour the juice into a pot.
  • To the juice, add the sugar, water and tea bags.
  • Let everything come to a boil and then simmer gently for about 10 minutes. Important: It should not boil!
  • Remove the tea bags and fill your syrup into sterile bottle.

  • 1000 ml Water
  • 12 Bag Herbal tea of choice
  • 600 g Birch sugar
  • 20 g Citric acid
  • Fresh herbs from the garden like lemon balm or mint

Anleitung

  • Boil the water and pour the hot water over the tea bags.
  • Let the tea bags steep for 15 minutes.
  • Remove the tea bags and add the sugar, citric acid and your fresh herbs.
  • Let the mixture simmer gently for another 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Immediately transfer your finished syrup into sterile bottles.

How long is the shelf life of homemade iced tea syrup

Be sure to use sterile bottles, because this way the syrup will not mold. To sterilize, fill the bottles with boiling hot water. Just before you want to fill the syrup, empty the water and fill the hot syrup immediately.

It is best to rinse the lids of the bottles with alcohol and close the bottles immediately after filling. This will keep your syrup fresh for a long time.

In a cool and dark place, the syrup lasts up to a year! An open bottle, however, you should definitely store in the refrigerator and consume promptly.
