Our conclusion about the protein brownies recipe with beans:

Of course, you can not completely hide the bean flavor. They always taste a little of it. Our tip: rinse the beans well and then soak them in water. This way the taste disappears pretty well. Dry them well before you then process them into porridge.

Fruity protein brownies recipe with applesauce

Not in the mood for brownies with beans? This recipe is a little more classic. Tastes super chocolaty and thanks to applesauce deliciously fruity.

How to sweeten a protein brownies recipe?

If you want to build muscles, the body needs a lot of protein. Even if you watch your diet, you need variety in between. And snacking is always delicious. Not always smart, but sometimes it just has to be.

Ideally, you then do without ingredients such as sugar or too much butter. There are many alternative ways to sweeten cakes, brownies and the like.

These are the best sugar alternatives for your protein brownies

Which flour is best for the brownies?

Of course, it depends on the rest of the ingredients. However, I would not resort to white flour. There are many great alternatives to common flour that will make your brownies much tastier. :)

These are the best white flour alternatives for your protein brownies:

  • Classic: wholemeal flour
  • Finely ground oatmeal
  • Coconut flour*
  • Almond flour*
  • Amaranth flour
  • Chia flour
  • Rice flour
  • Spelt flour

Of course, you can also use buckwheat flour. Here, however, you have to be careful. Because buckwheat flour has a strong flavor of its own. I do not think that it fits with the rest of the ingredients.

Our conclusion

Protein brownies are a great change. Especially for athletes they are ideal to supply their muscles with the necessary protein. Enjoy it!
