The advantage of our recipes for summer drinks is that they are completely sugar-free. So we do without the truckload of unhealthy white sugar. Fruits and herbs provide flavor and a little sweetness.
Thus, the alcohol-free summer drinks become healthy thirst quenchers. Especially those who have problems drinking enough will love the delicious recipes.
The challenge in summer is to drink even more than usual. When we sweat, we lose not only water, but also important minerals. But what to drink in summer?
It should be low in calories, healthy and alcohol-free. Basically, homemade fruit drinks, juice spritzers, mineral water and unsweetened teas are ideal for quenching your thirst. What you should stay away from are sugared drinks and alcoholic beverages.
Mineral water is ideal for a drink in the office or a summer drink for after work. You can spice it up with lots of fruit and herbs.

Like basil seeds. The advantage is that thanks to the small seeds you are full for a long time. They absorb up to 5 times their size in water.
This fills the belly and also has other positive effects. Which, we tell you in the article about the basil drink. We have dedicated an extra article to this drink. Because the benefits are insanely large and comprehensive.

- 1 lemon
- 1 handful mint
- 3 tablespoons basil seeds
- 1-2 cm ginger

Homemade elderflower syrup
Our absolute favorite! Homemade elderflower syrup is insanely refreshing and tastes great with both tap and mineral water.
Instead of refined sugar we use Birch sugar*. This saves calories and doesn't damage your teeth. Because we love it so much, we have dedicated a separate article to DIY elderberry syrup, in which we explain everything about elderberries.

Make your own iced tea
And what always goes, of course, is homemade iced tea. It tastes best served ice cold.
By the way, there are a lot of recipes for this. We have even dedicated a separate article to the topic of DIY iced tea.
For making iced tea, you don't need special tea bags. You can find them in stores, but that's just a sales pitch. Tea bags give off flavor even in cold water.
Ingredients
- 2 tea bags black tea
- 1 lemon
- 1 peach
- 1 liter water
Preparation
Just put everything in the carafe and let it infuse for at least 15 minutes. Best directly in the refrigerator.

Our conclusion
The summer will be really fruity! We look forward to many warm hours, cozy hours on the balcony and our delicious summer drinks.
