  • 1x unscented liquid soap
  • 200 ml water or vegetable oil
  • 0.5 tsp bath salt
  • 10 drops of fragrance oil

Mix all the ingredients well and pour them into a jar or bottle. Shake the mix well and pour it into the bathtub while the water is still running.

For all those who have a little more time, we have come up with quite wonderful instructions. For every mood and for every situation.

What ingredients do I need to make a bubble bath myself?

No matter which recipe you decide on later, you will always need three basic ingredients.

Liquid soap

Reach unscented liquid soap. A mild baby shampoo is also very gentle on the skin.

Tip: I always buy the soap in a canister. That is indeed once a lot of soap. But you save a lot of money and the environment packaging waste. Larger quantities are available at DM & Co.

Essential oils

Scents influence us much more than most people realize. Have you ever sniffed a lemon when you were really tired? The scent of lemon perks up tired spirits.

Lavender has a relaxing effect. Rosemary oil* is good for concentration and Rose oil* can have a stimulating, balancing effect.

Tip: It's best to get a whole set of essential oils, then you can also mix them for the bubble bath. Make yourself aware of the Effect of essential oils smart if you want to mix up a special bath foam.

But be careful - it should still not be more than 15 drops per 200 ml of soap.

Soap color

Does not have to be, but makes the bubble bath itself much nicer. Important: Use only a little color. Otherwise the foam will be too dark and that looks anything but good.

Pastel colors are the most beautiful. Who does not Soap color* at hand, you can also Food coloringtake *. Works just as well.

What do I have to pay attention to when making a bubble bath myself?

Do not overdo it with essential oils. They are highly concentrated. Just a few drops are enough. If you use too much, it will irritate the skin.

Try it the first time with too little rather than too much. Basically, 10 drops are enough if you want to make 300 ml of bubble bath yourself.

The same applies to Food coloring*. If you use too much, you will discolor the bathtub and your skin. Discreet looks best anyway. If you like, you can also Glitter* stir in. But you shouldn't overdo it here either. Otherwise it will stick everywhere :)

When you put the bath foam in beautiful vials you can also use it as a gift. You don't have to buy plastic bottles. You can also fill the bubble bath into a small champagne bottle, wine bottle or syrup bottle.

Is a bubble bath healthy?

Taking a hot bubble bath is pure relaxation and healthy. You relieve stress and stimulate blood circulation, which benefits muscles and joints.

How do I get a lot of foam in the tub?

To get a really nice bubble bath, you need to put the bath additive in the tub at the very beginning, and in the best case directly under the tap. Feel free to use more of the additive to get a lot of bath foam.

If you like it particularly foamy, do not let the water into the tub via the faucet, but use a shower head. The shower head should be parallel to the water surface. This way you get extra air into the water and a lot of foam is created.

By the way, in cold water you can make no foam, or at least much less.

Bubble bath do it yourself recipes

Our conclusion

If you want to make your own bubble bath, you don't need much. The basis is a mild liquid soap. With essential oils and Soap color* you bring colorful bathing fun into the bathtub.

Good luck! And good relaxation :)
