In addition, the Boskop is slightly acidic in taste. This makes it the best candidate for your baked apple.

Baked apples, by the way, are also a great way to use up apples that are already a bit wizened. If you have not already make applesauce again want, then off with it in the oven! After baking the apple is shriveled anyway 😅.
The eye eats with you
Often baked apples are delicious, but visually they are not the highlight. They are mushy, melt and do not hold their shape. This is usually because you have used apples that are too "soft". ☝️
Apples contain a lot of water - which is lost during preparation. The result is shriveled baked apples. A typical example is the Golden Delicious.
He does not look visually beautiful after baking, but it still tastes good. For my taste just a little too sweet, because it lacks acidity.
So if you also want to prepare visually beautiful baked apples, go for those that have firm flesh.
Do you already know this juicy apple bread with nuts?

Before you can use the best baked apple recipe prepare can, the apple must first hollow are made. The filling is then placed in this empty space and can release its flavor from here to the fruit flesh.
The easiest way to get apples with a special Apple corer edit. You only have to attach it to the stem and then press it down firmly. The entire core is removed.
If you don't have a cookie cutter, you can also use a small sharp knife with a narrow blade. With this you can either pre-scribe a circle and cut the inside with a Teaspoon or you can cut out the core directly. For this, however, the blade must be long enough 🙂 .
What are the methods of preparation of baked apples?
Quite classically, of course, you can bake the baked apple in the Oven prepare.
For this you need to turn the oven on 180° C preheat
Depending on the size of the apple it needs 20 to 30 minutes at top and bottom heat. Orientation for the baking time of your baked apple offers the Bowl. When she begins burst open, your dessert is ready.
The apple is then very juicy and soft. The filling has plenty of time to combine with the aroma of the apple, which provides extra flavor.
By the way, it's especially energy-saving if you bake an additional loaf of bread, a cake or something else before you turn on the stove for just one apple.
Baked apple from the microwave
If you don't have an oven or want to try something new, you can also prepare your baked apple in the microwave.
Place the cored and stuffed apple in a soup plate.
For the baked apple from the microwave you let the apple two - three minutes make its rounds at the highest level.
In the microwave, the apple becomes soft, but the roasted flavor it gets in the oven is missing. However, it is these roasted flavors that make nuts, in particular, really delicious.
But if you don't have any other option right now, a microwaved baked apple is better than no apple at all. 🤷♀️
Baked apple from the steamer
Anyone who has a steamer at home knows how juicy fruits and vegetables become as a result.
A baked apple can also be prepared in the steamer. Place your apple on the cooking plate of the steamer. Put the lid on and 20-30 minutes long steaming.
As with the microwave, the following applies here: The Roast aromas are missing. For this remain in the steamer, but all important Vitamins and nutrients get, which are destroyed in the micro and in the oven.
My favorite recipe: baked apple with nut filling without marzipan
Here you will find a recipe that I love more than anything. It is sweet, has bite and comes without household sugar.
I got this recipe from my grandma. 👵 She even made the cranberry jam herself. I buy the jam in the organic market.
I'm writing you a long version of the recipe together here. It's aimed at anyone who has never made a baked apple before. If you regularly bake apples in the oven, then you will find a short version of the recipe at the end of the post.
The recipe is enough for 2 people.
Ingredients
- 2 Boskop apples
- 10 g chopped hazelnuts
- 10 g chopped almonds
- 20 g raisins
- 1 tsp cranberry jam
- 1 pinch Cinnamon*
Also: core remover, board and knife, bowl, spoon, baking dish.
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 180° top-bottom heat.
Wash the apples. I cut about two centimeters off the top because I find it visually nicer - it doesn't make a difference in taste! You can also do without this step. With small or very flat apples this is not possible anyway.
Then generously prick out the core. All cores and parts of the core must come out. I use a core remover for apples for this.
Place the apple on a board for this, otherwise it can cause quite a scrape in the worktop.
Get a casserole dish ready.
In a bowl, mix the hazelnuts, almonds, raisins, lingonberry jam and Cinnamon*. Stir the mixture with a spoon until smooth.
Tip: I take ground hazelnuts* and almonds. I also roughly chop a few whole nuts to give the apple more bite.
Put the filling into the apples with a teaspoon. Press with your fingers so that the apple is filled evenly.
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven. The baked apples need about 25 minutes. If they get too dark, cover them with aluminum foil or baking paper.
What goes perfectly with it: Vanilla sauce or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
The classic: baked apple with cinnamon and sugar
Fancy a classic baked apple? In the past, people used to prepare the delicious apple from the oven without a lot of frills. All you need for a classic baked apple are Sugar and Cinnamon*.
Add the desired amount of apples unpeeled but cored with 180° in the oven. After the shell has burst open - this usually happens after 20 minutes to half an hour - the baked apple is ready.
So the apple is put in the oven unfilled. Only when it is soft, we provide with sugar and Cinnamon* for the topping. Sprinkle it on now while it is still really hot.
This is how easy it is to make your own applesauce!

What always fits, of course, are jams or freshly made fruit pulp.
Depending on the taste, especially raspberry, currant, cranberry or strawberry fit to the apple. Jam fillings are not baked in the oven, but served directly to the finished baked apple.

If you don't like nuts in your baked apple, it's best to use biscuits or marzipan.
What goes with the baked apple?
If you really want to indulge yourself, go for vanilla sauce or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Those who prefer to keep it healthy can eat fruit puree, Greek yogurt or cottage cheese with the baked apple.
If you have a lot of time, then I can recommend something very special: Mix egg yolk, starch, prosecco, sugar and cinnamon to wine foam. You have already conjured up a very noble and special dessert from a normal baked apple.
What is the shelf life of a baked apple?
As a sweet tooth, I like to prepare baked apples the night before. I store the cooled apple in the refrigerator and warm it up in the microwave when I'm at work. You can store baked apples in the fridge for 2 days.
If you know you can't manage to eat it away, just freeze it. It defrosts quickly in the microwave and is just as fresh. The consistency may be a bit mushier when thawed, but it won't change the taste.
