Beauty fans watch out! Here's a tutorial for making soap yourself with fragrant lavender. A dream in purple :)

But why DIY, when you can also buy them? It's simple! When lavender soap is homemade, it smells even more intense than soap from the store.

Whether you want to do something good for yourself with it or a Stressed girlfriend gift, a homemade lavender soap is always a good idea.

You can let off steam with the three different layers and visually conjure up a real eye-catcher. Since purchased soap simply can not keep up.

Lavender relaxes us from the inside. The scent helps against stress, tension and Headache. In addition, lavender has a sleep-inducing effect and in summer it keeps mosquitoes away from us.

If you want, you can dry the flowers in the summer and then stir the soap together in the fall or winter.

Ingredients for the lavender soap

When a Lavender soap homemade you'll first have to deal with a few Basic ingredients equip. They may seem a bit expensive at first glance, but you can boil a lot of soaps with them.

As a base for the lavender soap I have soap base with oatmeal and Shea butter* is used. You can get a kilogram of it for 20 euros.

When I saw the Lavender soap homemade have, I have 1 kg soap base used. This results in 10 piece. The oat flakes provide a pleasant exfoliating effect and the Shea butter* nourishes the skin velvety soft.

And then, of course, lavender. And in the form of dried flowers, lavender water and essential Lavender oil*.

How to make lavender soap yourself

The beautiful purple color gets the homemade lavender soap through Soap color*. I bought a set of 8 different colors for this. You can use these for Bath bombs, Peelings and Bath salts use. Caution: Use only a little, otherwise it will be too intense!

The middle dark stripe consists of Activated carbon*. And then I also used thyme essential oil and castor oil.

In the white and top part of the soap I have Witch hazel water* and rose water. It moisturizes and smells great :)

And last but not least of course a Soap mold* made of silicone.

If the lavender soap is homemade and filled in silicone, it may lose its shape. That is why the wooden box is so practical. So everything stays as it should. :)

Divide the soap base into 2 equal pieces.

Step 1: The purple part of the DIY soap

First the purple layer the Lavender soap homemade.

For this we first need lavender water. Take for this 100 ml of water and 2-3 tbsp. Lavender flowers*. Bring the flowers to the boil. Remove from the heat, cover the pan and leave to infuse for 15 minutes. Strain.

Melt half of the soap base at low temperature.

5 drops lavender oil, 3 drops Tea tree oil* and add lavender water.

Mix well and finally stir in the color. For this I used 5 drops, if you like it lighter or darker, you can easily vary.

Give to the side about a quarter of it - we need this part for the dark stripe.

Pour the first layer of soap into the silicone mold. If you like to have a crooked pattern, just put a stone, a lid or something else under one side of the mold.

Put the soap aside for an hour.

Step 2: The activated carbon

In the next step, our homemade lavender soap gets a decorative dark stripe. For this we need Activated carbon*.

Melt the purple soap base that you have set aside. Add 1-2 pinches of activated charcoal powder until the soap base turns dark gray.

Now add a little thyme oil (about 5 drops). Stir well and pour as a second layer on the lavender soap.

And again set aside for an hour. As you can see, you need plenty of time to make your own lavender soap. But it's really worth it :)

Step 3: The white layer for DIY lavender soap

For the white part, melt the remaining soap base. Add 10 drops of castor oil, a teaspoon of shea butter and 5 drops of lavender and thyme oil.

Now add a tablespoon of rose water and Witch hazel water* Add to the mixture. Stir well and pour into the silicone mold.

If you want your homemade lavender soap to have a beautiful pattern, let it rest for 10 minutes. After this time, roughen the layer with a spoon. Draw a wavy pattern and sprinkle a few Lavender flowers* up.

Step 4: Cut lavender soap

It is best to let the soap dry properly overnight. Then cut it into 3-5 cm thick slices.

For me, this tutorial results in 10 bars of homemade lavender soap.

Our conclusion

In our house lavender soap is homemade and not bought :). I have not yet found a soap in any store that has satisfied me to 100%. Homemade you have it in hand which ingredients in what quantities end up in your soap.

Besides, such a pretty DIY soap is a really great Gift for best friend!
