What ingredients you need for a DIY rose cream

The fewer ingredients that end up in your cream, the better. This saves time, money and benefits your skin.

Instead of 10 ingredients land in this DIY rose cream only 5 ingredients. And more need not be at all.

Beeswax*Lanolin, Almond oil*rose water and essential oil Rose oil* really pack a punch and result in a cream that moisturizes your skin. It also smells really good at the same time.

Of course, you should know the wonderful effect of your ingredients. So let me say a few words about the ingredients.

Beeswax

One of the ingredients you need for your homemade rose cream is Beeswax*.

The wax is not only particularly protective of the skin, but also has a moisturizing effect and can relieve skin problems. These properties are especially useful in the cold months, when the skin is dry and irritated.

In addition, the wax ensures that the cream gets its firm but spreadable consistency.

Lanolin

Lanolin or also called wool wax, provides the skin with moisture and is therefore particularly good for the care of chapped and dry skin.

Wool wax is also said to have an anti-inflammatory effect and strengthens the skin's own protective barrier.

Almond oil

My absolute favorite when it comes to making natural cosmetics. The oil can be mixed quite well with other ingredients and applied to the skin. It is suitable for all skin types.

Almond oil* contains a lot of unsaturated fatty acids. This has the advantage that the skin can absorb it very well.

In addition, the oil also contains vitamins and acids that are really good for the skin. Vitamin E protects against free radicals and B vitamins stimulate regeneration and cell growth.

Almond oil* is also known for not clogging the pores.

Rose water

Rose water has many beneficial properties. It has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, decongestant, skin tightening and antioxidant effects.

And as if that were not enough, it moisturizes the skin, promotes blood circulation and counteracts scarring.

The floral water must not be missing when making rose cream itself in any case.

Rose essential oil

Due to its high content of unsaturated fatty acids, the oil cares for particularly dry and sensitive skin. The Rose oil* Reduces redness and refines the skin texture.

The scent of rose oil also has a harmonizing and relaxing effect.

These instructions are enough for 1 Cream jar*.

Ingredients

Also: a powerful hand blender*, Cream jars*, 2 heat-resistant containers and a kitchen thermometer.

1. prepare the rose water

The basis for the rose cream is a homemade rose water.

In summer you can find blooming rose bushes on every corner. Maybe you even have some in your own garden.

With these you can make your rose waterthat you need for the cream. Make sure that they are scented roses. Many roses are beautiful, but have no smell, these are unsuitable for DIYs!

Just pick some rose petals and check out our rose water tutorial.
Tip: Please do not use roses from the trade. These are usually treated and the chemicals would get into your rose cream. You certainly do not want that.

If you don't have roses at home, be sure to use a high quality rose water. I use a Organic rose water* that I bought from Amazon and can highly recommend it to you.

2. melt lanolin and beeswax

You need a saucepan and an empty jar with a large opening. In the pot you put about so much water that it stands 5 cm high.

Bring the water to a boil. But be sure to put the glass in the glass when the water is cold. Otherwise, the glass may burst due to the large temperature difference.

As soon as the water boils, remove the pot from the stove. The temperature should not get too high.

Fullness Beeswax* and lanolin into the glass and melt it while stirring gently.

3. keep an eye on the temperature

When the wax and lanolin are liquid, add the almond oil.

Use the kitchen thermometer and make sure that the mixture does not exceed 60° Celsius. I take the pot off the hot stove every now and then for this.

4. warm the rose water

Grab a second pot. Heat the rose water in it. Also to 60° Celsius. If you are a beginner, I advise you to heat only half the amount of rose water and add cold water until the temperature is right.

Once the water is too hot, it takes a long time to cool down. With this trick you are on the right side.

5. mix the ingredients

Mix the lanolin and beeswax with the rose water. This works best in the pot in which you have warmed the rose water.

Stir with the hand blender on the lowest speed. Now cools during whipping and becomes very fluffy.

Finally, you add the ethereal Rose oil* and then pour the cream into Cream jars*. Leave the cream to cool before closing the jars.

You can find a short version of the instructions at the end of the post.

How long the shelf life of the rose cream

The sooner you use up the rose cream, the better.

If you disinfect all the containers properly before you make the rose cream yourself, you can also easily store it for up to three months.

It is best to put it in the refrigerator. So it does not spoil prematurely and provides an additional freshness kick during use.

By the way, it is recommended to use dark Cream jars* to use. Thanks to the tint, these have integrated light protection and ensure that the homemade rose cream lasts a long time.
