Long eyelashes are the dream of many women - including me. If, like me, you don't tolerate eyelash extensions well, you're probably wondering how to do eyelash extensions yourself. I've tried it and I'll tell you how!

Long, thick and beautifully curled eyelashes: a dream. But Lash Extensions in connection with a studio appointment are very time-consuming. And if you're like me, you may also have the misfortune of being allergic to the glue.

But how else can you get beautiful eyelashes? Have you ever wondered if you can get your Make your own eyelash extensions can? Because I do - and that's why I did some research!

I found a set online that I could use to make my own can do eyelash extensions - and that is well suited for beginners!

I'll tell you everything you need to know so that you can do lash extensions quickly and easily at home 😉

That's why I want to glue lash extensions myself

I have very light and wispy eyelashes - so without mascara they're not really an eye-catcher. Unfortunately, lash curlers and my own mascara alone don't help, as my lashes tend to curl. Lashes only difficult to tame leave.

From 2017 until the beginning of 2020, I always Glue your own eyelash strips. But at some point in the morning, that was too stupid and time-consuming for me, which is why I started looking for an alternative.👀

During the 2020 pandemic, a neighbor friend of mine then told me in her home studio Lash Extensions made. That was nice for the first time and saved a lot of time, but unfortunately after 3 months allergic I reacted to the glue in such a way that my eyes were swollen shut - not uncommon, as I found out.

So that was no longer an alternative. Since then, I've tried a lot of things but haven't found anything that has achieved the desired result. I've actually come to terms with the fact that mascara is my friend and helper - but now I have YouTube videos and Sets to glue yourself.

Beautiful eyelashes in the blink of an eye? One Do eyelash extensions yourself? Sounds like a dream - I have to try it 😁

What do I need to make my own eyelashes?

It really doesn't take much to make beautiful eyelashes yourself.

Above all, you need:
  • Nail scissors
  • Applicator (eyebrow tweezers in an emergency)
  • Lashes or lash extensions
  • Glue

So you only need a few things to finally have beautiful eyelashes. I opted for a set so that I was really ideally prepared.

Online I have GirlGotLashes discovered. With its various lash extensions and accessories, the company offers everything you need to lengthen and thicken your lashes yourself.

I think the GGL Box is ideal for me. The website says it's the perfect starter set. Although I'm no longer a beginner in this "business", it's been a while since I last applied eyelashes.

Is gluing eyelashes yourself suitable for beginners?

Beautiful eyelashes are a real eye-catcher - but it's mostly men who are blessed with thick, beautiful eyelashes. Totally unfair!

If you want to do eyelash extensions yourself, you need to be aware that it takes a lot of time and effort. Patience is required. It can quickly happen that the lashes sit crooked or look unnatural because they don't match your eye.

In the beginning, the motto really does apply: Strength lies in tranquillity. But the good news is that eyelash glueing is not rocket science - so yes, even as a beginner you can make your own lash extensions.

👉My Tip: Opt for natural eyelash extensions for the first time. It's clear that the voluminous sets are more appealing, but you're not used to suddenly having so many lashes.

I can only tell you from my experience that a dramatic set can throw you at the beginning... and you won't like it.

This is exactly why you should opt for natural lashes decide. Over time, you can try out increasingly voluminous extensions. But for inexperienced hands (and eyes), the natural sets are simply much better.

Make your own eyelash extensions: 3 steps to beautiful lashes!

After just under a week, I stop in a small box I finally have my order in my hands - yay, nothing stands in the way of my lash extensions.

And that's great: today is Friday. Tomorrow (Saturday) I'm going with my family to Italy and am at the same Evening with my Girls on the road. There's a lot going on, but this way I can really test the lashes.😉

There are a few tips you can follow to make sure your eyelashes last a long time:

  • Apply eyelashes in the morning
  • your own eyelashes must be cleaned beforehand
  • Treat straight eyelashes with the pliers beforehand
  • Do not place eyelashes at the innermost edge
  • Avoid warm water on the face
  • No oily products on the eyes

I bring the Eyelashes on early afternoon on. As I was still working in the morning and don't have time the next morning, unfortunately that's the only time I can do it.

But I'm very meticulous about the rest. Since I want to have clean hair for the weekend, I go beforehand Showers and my Wash your hair. I do this with the ulterior motive that the glue certainly wouldn't like it if it was tortured with hot vapors later when drying.

I wash my face with Cold water and dry it off and make sure that my eyelashes are dry before I start gluing.

I then also take care of my hair, as I not When blow-drying the eyelashes and the adhesive with the Heat "incriminate" - better safe than sorry.

Then I get my make-up corner ready: I take the Lash Pad out of the packet and place it in front of me - but you can also use a small plate. The only important thing is that you don't scatter the individual pieces around.

What else I need is a Eyelash brush and a Nail scissors - Fortunately, I have all that at home 😊

My set also includes a 2-in-1 eyelash glue and top coat as well as the applicator. The Lashes are on a small Plastic pedestal. Everything can simply be taken out of the box.

Step 1: Customize

I carefully loosen the Eyelashes out of its device and put it on my eyes - that way I can see where I want more and where I want less volume.😊

Then I can start with the Nail scissors the eyelashes (i.e. the band) like this cut to size, how I want it. In my case, I want a lot of volume on the outside and decreasing volume on the inside - I think that suits me best because I really always have a Eyeliner outside and inside.

Once this is done (for both eyes) I can use the finished parts on Pad lay them down as I will need them.

I'm going to work my way from the outside in, as I don't need many lashes on the inside anyway.

I need all of this to make my own eyelash extensions.

Now everything is ready for me to Do eyelash extensions yourself can!

Step 2: Gluing

To make the lashes stick, I have to use the Glue to my Lashes give. According to the instructions, I should focus on the Lash line focus - the tips of my eyelashes don't necessarily need the glue.☝🏼

The applicator of the adhesive is like a small mascara with a slight bend - This is presumably to make it easier to catch every eyelash.

While the adhesive is slightly dries, I use the applicator to apply the first eyelash extensions and give the Ribbon something else Glue, so that the lashes hold bombproof.

Once that's done, I take off with my free hand my Eyelid slightly because the lashes are placed on the underside. The lashes should then be as close as possible, but not directly, at the Waterline can be glued on. 👁️

Give yourself enough time for this step so that you can place the lashes securely.

Step 3: Seal eyelashes

The eyelashes are therefore attached to your own eyelashes attached - That's why the glue was applied to the lashes. When I'm happy with the placement of the lashes, I use the applicator to press my lashes together with the false ones again so that everything is really firmly in place.

I do this for both eyes. It took me a total of 22 minutes (I measured the time) - so it was Done quickly. 😉

When all the lashes have stuck, I use the Top Coat and run the tip of the applicator under my lashes and leave out the tips.

And bang: the beautiful eyelash lift is finished. I'm really thrilled.😁👍🏼

I am aware that, especially as a Beginner some overloaded can be. That's why I looked around on YouTube for the right video for you.

Eyelash extensions in the test: this is my experience

I want to know whether the lashes last a long time and are therefore suitable. So it's a good thing that I have a long and exciting day in front of me.

I leave for Lignano, Italy, with my family at around 8am. The weather is good for it. It's also nice warm and by the sea a light Wind.

We walk a few kilometers on the beach - but the eyelashes hold the Weather stood up well! Even after our walk on the beach, they still look great 😄.

I head home again in the early evening. I don't have much time to relax as my friends are about to come over.

Therefore make-up I quickly from and then again new. Although my eyelashes didn't suffer from the trip, my make-up no longer looks too fresh.

👉My Tip: If, like me, you like wearing eyeliner, I can only recommend that you use a cotton bud to remove it and avoid rubbing with make-up remover wipes!

After my make-up looks tip-top again (and yes, the lashes are off), I quickly change and the doorbell rings. Tonight my girls and I are going out dance. How could it be otherwise? quite hot! 🥵

That's because of the mass of people, but also because of my really wild dance moves. Sweating is therefore quite normal.

After a few hours, I'm a bit tired from the long day and my feet are killing me, so we decide to make the journey back to my place.

I look pretty tired, but the important thing is that the Eyelashes are still top!

Before I can finally go to sleep, I take a quick shower, remove my make-up and brush my teeth.

The next day it is (theoretically) already Day 3 with the Lashes. After such an exhausting and long day before, I wouldn't have been surprised if I was missing eyelashes - but that's not the case.

The eyelashes have Saturday survived very well and still look good (in contrast to the bird's nest that I called "hair" yesterday).

DIY lash extensions
This is what the lashes look like after 3 days!

So yes: my eyelashes lasted really well over the weekend. The lashes are bombproof and still look incredibly good even after a long and eventful day - I am definitely convinced by the Make your own eyelash extensions!

The GirlGotLashes set even lasted for over a week (including crying). So I can really recommend it.🩷🥰

However, I have switched to make-up remover with oil waived. Rubbing my eyes was also taboo. In the morning, I combed my lashes with an eyelash brush (which I got from the drugstore). This way you can make sure that you can enjoy your lashes for a long time.
