What makes a green seed soup so special

Green spelt is not an invention of modern times. It has a very long tradition but is a bit forgotten. Green spelt is spelt that is dried over smoke. This is how people used to preserve grain that did not ripen due to bad weather.

Today, green spelt is deliberately harvested early. It is then roasted and dried. It is often offered as a healthier alternative to wheat. And that's where it really comes into its own. Because spelt - and especially when it is unripe - contains many more vitamins and minerals than wheat.

Thus, it scores especially with B vitamins, which are good for the brain and nerves. That is why green spelt is often called nerve food. Also wonderful for stressed nerves are the magnesium and phosphorus contained.

The protein in the small kernels is also of higher quality than in wheat. With 4 mg of iron, green grain becomes interesting for all those who suffer from an iron deficiency every now and then.

By the way, to prepare a green spelt soup from the grains is also a good idea, because they are very digestible. Even people who have problems with the stomach usually tolerate green spelt very well. Unless, of course, you have a gluten intolerance.

In terms of taste, green seed soup is mega delicious. Roasting makes the flavor nutty and slightly smoky.

Our conclusion

Green seed soup is my new secret weapon for surviving the cold season. The more ginger you add, the spicier it gets. For extra cold days, a piece of chili also fits wonderfully in the soup.

I wish you never again cold feet or hands! :)
