Fancy a bit of variety at the breakfast table? I have the Foodspring Breakfast Bowl in the test and tell you my opinion about it.

I love breakfast. For me, there's nothing more relaxing on days off than taking an hour for it. During the week, of course, it's a little different. It has to be quick and still healthy.

In search of new ideas for breakfast I came across the Foodspring Breakfast Bowl bumped into. They popped up in my Instagram feed and I just couldn't look away.

In bright yellow, intense red and bold blue, they smile at me. The bowls are now brand new in the range and available in three flavors.

Well, if that doesn't scream for an experience post? Here you will find my Foodspring Breakfast Bowl Test. I'll tell you what's in the bowls and more importantly, how they taste!

I became aware of the Foodspring products a long time ago. The Shape Shake I find quite tasty and have about the range in general already written a Foodspring experience post. I can't just leave out new products.

And since breakfast is my favorite meal anyway, it's quite fitting. So let's take a look. This is my experience with the Breakfast Bowls from Foodspring.

What is the Foodspring Breakfast Bowl?

In short, Breakfast Bowls are a whole grain oatmeal with fruit powder. Foodspring promises a strong start to the day with its bowls. But what ingredients are in the breakfast package? Definitely a whole lot of fiber, sweet fruits and superfoods.

The base of each bowl is oatmeal meal and whole oatmeal flour. So good news for those who have a soy intolerance: The bowls come without soy.

The breakfast bowl is available in three flavors:

  • Raspberry açai
  • Mango turmeric
  • Spirulina coconut

The bowls get their flavor and color from finely pulverized fruits. You won't find any sweeteners or sugar in them. The bowls get their slight sweetness from fruit - which is why the mango-turmeric version tastes the sweetest. But more on that in a moment. In addition, a little date powder is added, which provides a very pleasant sweetness.

In test: the Foodspring Breakfast Bowl

So that I can tell you exactly about it, I got myself all 3 flavors right away. A 450 gram package costs 19.99 euros - a proud price for a little breakfast. However, you have to keep in mind that all ingredients are organic.

And very great for all those who eat without animal products or do not tolerate dairy products: The bowls are all vegan. But let's see how the bowls taste - after all, that's what matters.

The preparation

When opening the package comes to me a fruity smell. The ingredients in the package are pretty well chopped and therefore difficult to recognize. But that should be fine with me, I do not like mueslis and flakes that you have to chew forever anyway.

On the package I can already see the instructions: mix 50 grams of powder with 100 ml of water and stir. Done. Optimal for a quick start to the day.

So with a measuring cup, I take exactly 50 grams from the package.

However, I do not add water, but oat milk. Because I like to eat warm in the morning, I warm up the oat milk briefly in the microwave.

Now I stir in the powder. I stir with a large spoon until the bowl becomes creamy. For this I need only about 10 turns with a tablespoon. The mixture combines quickly and does not form lumps.

Because the oatmeal is crushed, it absorbs the liquid very well. So my first Breakfast Bowl experience is thoroughly positive.

The smell reminds me of fresh raspberries. I have to laugh, because my stomach is already starting to growl. 😅

Of course, you can use more or less liquid to get the consistency you like. Personally, I like my porridge a little firmer and experimented a bit. The blue Foodspring Breakfast Bowl I stirred a little thicker, as you can see in the photo on the spoon.

I don't know why, but I always need something to bite into early in the morning, so I added some fruit and coconut flakes to the bowl. If you want, you can also add additional seeds and flakes.

How do the breakfast bowls taste?

The colors are gorgeous, aren't they? But don't let that mislead you. It's what's on the inside that counts, as the saying goes.

The scent of all three bowls is already very tasty. But how do they taste?

My favorite is definitely mango. But let's take a quick closer look at the individual flavors.

The Raspberry Breakfast Bowl

The bowl stands before me in a beautiful pinkish-red. Who wonders how raspberries can color such a beautiful pink: They have a little help from red currants.

In terms of taste, you notice banana, dates and raspberries noticeably out. In addition, you will find quinoa, lucuma and of course açai.

In consistency, the Raspberry Bowl is very creamy and personally reminds me a bit of the thick smoothie I made last week.

Taste-wise, though, the Breakfast Bowl with raspberry and açai is much better than my smoothie was. I ended up having to stretch it so much that it had little flavor left - I ended up with over a liter to drink - but that's another story.

If you want a more intense flavor, mix a few fresh raspberries into the bowl. Strawberries also fit in very well. But for those who have little time - it tastes very fruity even without toppings and fresh fruit.

The Mango Foodspring Breakfast Bowl

And how does the bowl with mango taste? As I have already briefly announced, it is my absolute favorite. I love mangoes - preferably fresh and really nice and ripe. This reminds me right back to my Thailand vacation a few years ago.

But before I digress, I would like to tell you a few sentences about this breakfast. After all, you're here to read my Breakfast Bowl experience and not because of my Thailand vacation.

Like the Raspberry Bowl, the yellow powder dissolves very quickly in the oat milk. And it smells simply delicious. My mouth waters when I notice the mango scent. Yum.

There is no time to prepare the bowl nicely. Even before the powder has combined with the drink, I have to taste a little with my finger. Hammer!

And that, although I actually do not like turmeric so much. But the taste of turmeric powder is only very marginally noticeable. If I had not known that it is in the bowl, I would not have noticed.

Primarily you can taste mango, but that's no wonder, the mango powder makes up 20 % of the bowl. Then apple powder, baobab powder, ginger and 0.3 % turmeric are added to the bowl.

In short, my absolute favorite!

The Spirulina Coconut Breakfast Bowl

Pretty blue, isn't it? Honestly, I was a little put off by the blue at first.

I take otherwise hardly Spirulina to me, so I must probably first get used to the color. Already when opening the package a very intense coconut smell flows towards you. Since I like coconut very much, it will certainly taste good.

Quick look at the ingredients: Rolled oats, coconut flakes, date powder, Chia* and spirulina.

This bowl turns out the least sweet, but it still tastes very good. Especially if you like to eat coconut, you get your money's worth here.

Again, the powder mixes up very quickly in the liquid. I add a few fresh mango pieces and bananas to make it sweeter and I get a nice color contrast.

If you are afraid that your lips, teeth and tongue will turn blue, I can warn you: Fortunately, this does not happen.

Is the breakfast bowl worth it?

Granted, the bowls aren't cheap. But if you want to discover something new and save time in the morning, you should dare your own Foodspring Breakfast Bowl test. I'll be happy to give you a coupon code for that, too, which you can use to save yourself money.

The bowls are not for every day. For this, the package is also much too quickly empty, you come per package to about 9 servings. However, you can combine the bowls with fresh fruits, seeds, seeds and flakes and then have something longer.

But even without additional toppins, the breakfast bowls keep you full for a very long time. I eat mine as usual at 6:30 in the morning and manage the whole morning without snacks. At 11:30, my stomach finally starts to growl again - perfect for lunch.

By the way, also very tasty: mix the powder into a smoothie and infuse with banana and oat milk.

I'm going to stock up and treat myself to a bowl on days when I really need to go fast. If you want, you can save yourself some money via the discount code  WGW15FS 15% on your order. Enter the coupon code when placing your order on the Foodspring website an.

From me it's a clear thumbs up for the bowls!
