There are 4 things we should definitely do in December. What they are and why they are so important, we tell you here.

Time seems to stand still during Christmas and New Year's Eve. Well, it doesn't really stand still, but to many it seems that way.

Because this week is vacation time for the majority of people. Restaurants, stores and many businesses are closed or only open for a few hours.

What is pure relaxation for many - is quickly boring for others. Do nothing for 5 days. That sounds good at first. But when the time comes, you quickly get tired of it.

And this is the perfect time to finally do things you've been putting off for a long time. Seriously, you shouldn't wait until January.

You don't know where to start? It's very simple :)

These 4 things, you should definitely do between December 26 and 31:

December 26: Finally make room

It usually begins quite harmlessly. We wish for many nice things for Christmas. Most of them we also get - be it as a gift or as a reward from us for us.

We start hanging the new clothes in the closet, putting the sneakers in the shoe closet, spreading the decorations around the living room and putting the new perfumes in the bathroom.

Stupid only that we now even no place have more. We have to realize that we go through the apartment in a slalom because there is something everywhere.

Now, at the latest, it's time to finally make room. Whether you opt for the Donations, Upcycling or simply decide for the garbage - the important thing is that you have free space again at the end.

Because this free space is not only good for the apartment, but also for our head.

Free you from heartache, frustration and anger. Let's get rid of these memories.

That also means, for example, finally deleting your ex-boyfriend's number, saying goodbye to friends who aren't good for you, or getting rid of your aunt's questionable-looking decorations.

Anyway: You deserve it without contaminated sites to start the new year. Free yourself from everything else!

December 27: Check your finances

Take a deep breath - everything will be fine. Even if your account balance is anything but pleasing.

The first step to getting a handle on your finances is to look closely at what you're dealing with. Do you know your monthly expenses exactly?

Write everything down and see where you can save. Switching your cell phone, Internet and electricity provider can make a big difference.

What did you spend a lot of money on this year that you didn't have in other places?

Tip: Find out if there is a food sharing service in your area, as you can save a lot here at the moment.

December 28-30: Treat yourself to a little time off

Your apartment is clean, your finances checked - now it's time for a Break.

Before you pop the champagne corks, launch into a new adventure and vow that 2017 will be the very best year of your life, take some time for yourself.

During the holidays, it's very important to have some time just for yourself. The many family gatherings are wonderful, but at least as exhausting. A little Reboot so it can't hurt.

Whether you want to take some time out at home with fragrant bath balls in the bathroom If you want to indulge yourself, go skiing or have a spa day - you are allowed to do what you really like.

December 31: Be grateful

This is the most important thing you should do this year. Be thankful for everything you have and for all your Friends and family.

Write these things down. Make being grateful a morning ritual - for example, while drinking coffee. Then remind yourself how well you're actually doing. This way, pessimism doesn't stand a chance :)

Our conclusion

Boredom has no place in the holidays. There is a lot to do that has been put off for a long time. Get to work on these tasks and you will see that you can start the new year much more relaxed :)
