In short, you strengthen muscles that you would strengthen without a plate and at the same time, the deeper muscles come into play.

So let's move on to the vibration plate test. When I think about it now, I immediately feel the tingling in my legs again. A fun feeling - but more on that in a moment.

The first time on the plate

I plug the plate into the power outlet. At 1.8 meters, the cable is long enough to be flexible. Otherwise, an extension cord is simply used.

I first turn them on or stand on them. And lo and behold - the plates are not silent. The volume is within limits, but you should still pay attention to the number of decibels when buying. Especially if you live in a very noisy apartment.

TipAnything below 50 decibels is considered quiet. In order not to disturb the neighbors, I recommend that you place a thin training mat underneath. This will dampen the vibrations somewhat.

I can read the time and program on the display. I can also change the program, increase the speed or switch off the plate. Control via the wristband is easier.

So, my first step on the vibra plate is coming up. Before I do that, I turn it off. After all, I want to get a feel for the training device first.

I feel quite comfortable on the large tread surface. It's just a little unusual to stand so high up during training. But I quickly get used to it.

It's ready to go. I press the start button on the wristband and am happy that my vibration plate experience can finally start. At level one, everything feels very pleasant. It is a bit unusual, I have to admit.

Today I don't want to overdo it, so I decide to do a workout that only takes 10 minutes and I want to try all the features for that.

I start by doing squats. After two I increase the intensity. I move on to lunges and even use the band slings. It's hard to believe that you can feel the vibrations through the slings all the way into your fingers.

I'll stick to three exercises this time and want to slowly get used to the training device. Next time I will also use the music function for sure to really tick off :)

What I can say after 3 months

My first test was quite funny because the training was so unfamiliar. The next few times I'll approach it with more system. My second and third workouts are 15 minutes each with a 3 day break in between.

One day I decided to train only the legs. I'm really surprised how intense the muscle soreness is. I'm not untrained - at least 2x a week I have a full-body workout on the schedule. Nevertheless, I feel the front thighs the next day properly - especially when climbing stairs.

Now a few lines about the long-term vibratory plate experience: I'm starting to incorporate the vibratory plate regularly into my workout. You can't do all the exercises with it, but it makes a lot of them much more intense.

Push-ups, planks and even abdominal exercises are possible. The muscle soreness gets less and less each time, because I now manage to select the right intensity. On non-training days, I use the very light vibrations of the first level of the plate.

I wonder if I lost weight with it, you want to know? Well, I'm glad I didn't, because that wasn't my goal. I wanted to tone my body and build muscle and I actually did well. I was able to reduce my body fat percentage by 5 % in the 3 months of training.

I can't claim that I have more muscles in purely visual terms. But that's because you build up mainly deep lying muscles. Shall be fine with me, a muscle mountain I never wanted to be anyway :)

The linear vibration ensures that the plate moves up and down as a whole. Both legs are loaded at the same time. Most plates have combined vibration programs. Exclusively linear plates can hardly be found on the market anymore.

Anyone who wants to gain experience on an oscillating vibration plate will quickly notice that the device additionally rocks and moves to the right and left. In addition, it goes up and down. The legs are loaded alternately.

How much hertz should I choose?
