Start with the rice. Brown rice takes longer than white rice, you should allow about 30 minutes. Cook the rice with twice the amount of water and salt. While the rice is cooking, prepare the soup.

Chop the tomatoes, chives, parsley and celery stalk. Add them to the onions.
