Make Matcha Latte yourself: The recipe

Just mix everything together and you're done? Unfortunately, making your own matcha latte is not that easy. If you do not prepare it properly, the powder does not dissolve. This gives bitter green lumps.

  • 250 ml almond milk (alternative: soy, rice or regular milk)
  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 3 tablespoons warm water

Homemade Matcha Latte: The Instructions

  1. Pour the matcha powder into a small bowl or cup.
  2. Stir the powder with warm water (not more than 80 °, otherwise the matcha becomes bitter!). It dissolves best with a bamboo whisk.
  3. Heat the milk in a saucepan and whisk until frothy. You can either do this with the coffee maker. Or use a milk frother or snow cans.
  4. The frothed milk goes into the glass
  5. The matcha espresso comes carefully over the milk. Best with a spoon, then you have beautiful layers :)

You can sweeten with Agave syrup* or Coconut blossom sugar*.

What distinguishes Matcha Latte from Matcha Tea?

And then? In recent years, the pick-me-up powder from the leaf tips of Tencha tea has also arrived in our country.

One reason for this are the dear celebrities. More and more often, paparazzi photographed them with frothy green matcha lattes in the streets of Hollywood. The photos soon ended up in the tabloids. And everyone wondered: Can you make your own matcha latte?

Yes, you can. Goes even very simple as you see :)
