I love apples! But I love even more this low carb apple pie, which is mega easy to prepare.

Do you know the desire for sweets and the guilty conscience afterwards? White flour and sugar in particular are suspected of making you fat.

But we simply do without it in this super fluffy low carb apple pie.

Instead of household sugar, there's Birch sugar*. And almonds instead of white flour.

And just like that, the unhealthy treat turns into a super moist low carb apple pie.

With this apple pie without carbohydrates your Sunday coffee is saved.

Because almonds contain just 3.7 grams of carbohydrates per 100 grams. They are perfect for anyone who avoids gluten and follows a low carb diet.

However, you can of course eat the low carb apple pie even if you are not on a low carb diet.

Ingredients
 

  • 150 g Sour apples
  • 100 g Butter room-warm
  • 4 Eggs
  • 100 g Erythritol or xylitol
  • 200 g ground almonds
  • 1 TL Cinnamon

Anleitung

  • Preheat the oven to 170° top and bottom heat. Grease a loaf pan (20 cm long) with melted butter so that the dough does not stick.
  • Peel the apples and cut them into small cubes.
  • Put the butter in a bowl and beat it with a mixer until fluffy. Important: It should be room temperature, otherwise it is difficult to beat.
  • Separate the eggs and add the yolks to the butter. Add erythritol and stir until everything is nice and fluffy.
  • Beat the egg whites until stiff.
  • Mix the grated almonds and cinnamon. Fold the mixture into the butter-egg mixture with a dough scraper.
  • And now fold in the egg whites and the apple pieces.
  • The cake takes about 40 minutes. Do the test with chopsticks. If it is not yet done, cover it with baking paper and put it in the oven for another 5-10 minutes.

But not every apple makes a good cake. It should be aromatic and not fall apart when baking low carb apple pie. With these apple varieties the cake succeeds:

What speaks for this low carb apple pie

When I'm in the mood for cake, it has to be quick. For you, too? I have no motivation for complicated recipes. The fewer ingredients I need and the faster it goes, the better I like it.

That is one of the very biggest plus points for this apple pie without flour. And that brings us to the next point: without flour.

It doesn't hurt us all to eat fewer carbohydrates now and then. There are many healthy alternatives to white flour that contain nutrients we can really benefit from. The best example is nuts.

Almonds are an excellent source of healthy fats, protein and fiber. You'll find plenty of magnesium, vitamin E, copper and calcium. The nuts are said to prevent cravings and strengthen the immune system.

Too much white flour, on the other hand, can lead to skin problems and migraines.

And when the almonds are then put into a delicious low carb apple pie, it tastes even better :)

Why your apple pie should be sugar free

Conventional cake contains a lot of refined sugar. In other words, household sugar. However, this is not healthy for our body. And for the low carb diet anyway absolutely unsuitable.

Too much sugar causes tooth decay, diabetes and makes us fat.

You can simply replace household sugar with Erythritol* and you've already done something good for your body.
