Ingredients
 

  • 125 Gram Spelt flour
  • 1/4 TL Baking powder
  • some Vanilla flavoring
  • 40 Gram Birch sugar
  • 1 small Egg
  • 50 Gram Applesauce
  • 1 large Apple peeled and diced
  • 1 Pinch Cinnamon

Anleitung

  • Mix flour and baking powder in a bowl.
  • In another bowl, whisk the egg with the sugar. Add the applesauce. And then add the vanilla flavoring.
  • Knead all the ingredients into a smooth dough and put it in the refrigerator for half an hour.
  • For the filling, put the apple pieces with cinnamon in a saucepan. Add 3 tablespoons of water and bring the filling to a boil, stirring constantly. Take the pot off the stove and let the apples cool down.
  • Preheat the oven to 180° top and bottom heat. Or 150° hot air.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured work surface. Cut out heart cookies.
  • Place an ice cream stick on half of the hearts.
  • With a teaspoon, add a little apple mixture to the center of the shortbread. Now place the second heart on top. Press the edges of the dough with the tines of a fork.
  • Brush the hearts with egg yolk and sprinkle a little cinnamon and birch sugar on the cookies.
  • Off you go into the oven. The homemade apple pockets need about 10 minutes.
