You want to decorate a little spooky and teach others to shiver? Then you should not forget about the appropriate lighting. So you can easily make a Halloween light.

Quick, easy and yet beautiful - I love such craft instructions and decorations the most.

For those who, like me, are short on time but still want to get into the Halloween spirit, this DIY lamp is perfect.

You can make these Halloween lamps even with children. Injuries are excluded, because you do not even need scissors for it.

Are you ready for spooky lighting? Here's how you can make a ghost lamp.

Halloween light craft in three easy steps

Are you ready? Then let's get right to it. I've also brought you some pictures that show what the Halloween lamp looks like in the dark. Creepy, right? 😁

You need

If you're not a skilled painter, you'll still need a pencil to sketch the faces.

Here's how:

1. prepare the box

Why do I need a cardboard box for the Halloween lantern please? That is quickly explained. When you draw on the bag with the pen, it pushes through on the other side.

Therefore, you push a piece of cardboard inside the white bag to protect the back of the bag from it.

You can, of course, just fold a piece of paper several times until you get the right size.

What you ultimately choose doesn't matter when you're crafting a Halloween light.

2. paint the paper bags

Now draw the faces of the ghosts on the bags with the pencil. If you are talented, you can skip this step and draw immediately with a black felt-tip pen.

Think beforehand exactly which facial expression the bags should get. I have a photo for you here with lots of inspiration.

From funny, creepy, angry, scary, horrified, anything you like is possible.

Make sure you paint the areas nice and clean and don't paint over the same spot too often. The bags are usually quite thin and can be broken.

The larger the mouth and eyes turn out, the better you can see them.

Remove the cardboard and let the Halloween lights dry briefly. They are ready for use.

3. provide light

But it only gets creepy when the lamps glow in the dark.

I use LED tea lights for this. Please do not use real candles. I don't have to tell you that this can never go well in the paper bags.

By the way, there are also LED tea lights that flicker and imitate real flames. This looks particularly eerie.

I recommend this one from Amazon:

How to show off the Halloween lamps especially well

If you invest a little more, you can buy lamps that have an automatic timer. S

o you can set them to start independently every day at 7 pm. This saves you a lot of work and time. It also makes the whole thing really creepy.

The darker it is outside, the better they come out. You can put them anywhere you want. However, due to their light weight, you need to protect them from wind.

If bad weather is on the horizon, put the Halloween lights in a safe place. They will not survive rain.

Be creative. You can put the lamps along stairs, hang them on the tree, place them in front of the front door or find a suitable place for them in the hedge.

They also make great decorations at Halloween parties and show your guests the way.

Alternatively, I also find these quick Halloween lights very cute. But just rather sweet than scary.

Our conclusion

Crafting a Halloween light is quite simple. You don't have to do them a lot of work to get a great result. Paper bags, tea lights and pens are all you need to get in the spirit. Have fun with your spooky decoration!
