Why we love asparagus strawberry salad

Sprouts also fit wonderfully into the asparagus salad. By the way, the healthiest sprouts of all are broccoli sprouts. You don't have to buy them. You can easily grow them yourself. This even works without a germinator and without a sprouting jar.

Why asparagus is so healthy

The sun makes the difference. While white asparagus grows under mounds of earth, green asparagus thrives above ground. Sunlight replenishes its vitamin reserves and gives it its green color.

Especially in spring, your body needs a good dose of folic acid, vitamins and fiber. Asparagus contains potassium, phosphorus, calcium, sodium, vitamins A, B, C and niacin. That comes our recipe for asparagus strawberry salad just right :)

Due to its high potassium content, it has a diuretic effect.

Asparagus consists of 94% of water. So it provides your body with plenty of water, which the body needs especially on warm days. Because of its high water content, it is also very low in calories and ideal for weight loss.

How to prepare asparagus correctly

Whether roasted, boiled or cooked in the oven. Green asparagus tastes simply delicious. But it is also very easy to prepare.

Unlike white asparagus, you don't have to peel green asparagus. It's enough if you cut off the woody ends.

There are three ways you can prepare green asparagus.

Cook green asparagus

If you want to cook your green asparagus, bring salted water to a boil with a pinch of sugar. Reduce the heat and add the asparagus whole or in pieces. Cook it for about six minutes until it is firm to the bite.

Quickly prepared in the pan

For our asparagus strawberry salad, we prepared the asparagus in a pan. Cut the asparagus spears into long pieces and fry them for five minutes in a little olive oil. Season the asparagus with salt and pepper. Done!

Asparagus from the oven

You can also prepare green asparagus in the oven. However, this takes a little longer. Wrap the asparagus spears with a little butter or oil, salt and pepper in aluminum foil. Let the asparagus cook at about 180 degrees for 17-20 minutes.

Which variant you choose is entirely up to you :)

Our conclusion

Asparagus strawberry salad is simply amazing. It tastes really delicious and you can prepare it according to your taste. Combine fresh and crunchy ingredients according to your mood.

A great dish for salad lovers.
