Instructions
Put all the ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil. Work with medium temperature. Boiling quickly is not a good idea, because the mass will burn. Important: Stir constantly!
The sugar paste starts small bubbles and foam? Then step 1 is ready.
Take the pot off the stove and continue stirring until the sugar paste stops bubbling.
Put the pot back on the stove top and boil again.
Repeat this process until you have a viscous light brown to honey-colored mass. This usually requires 10-15 repetitions.
Put a drop of Halawa on a plate and let it cool down a bit. Now you can try if the consistency already fits. Knead the sugar paste between your fingers. It should pull like a chewing gum.
The consistency is okay? Then let the paste cool and prepare for sugaring.
