Ever heard of Japandi Interior? No? Then you're missing out on the biggest interior trend of 2021! Here's what you need to know about it and how to implement Japandi.

The interior style Japandi combines warm feel-good atmosphere with strict aesthetics. It brings the cool style of Scandinavia and the reduced design of Japan together in our apartment.

Cool minimalism meets reduced aesthetics and creates a sense of well-being within our four walls. Combine the two and you have a new trend on the market: Japandi Interior. Or simply called Japandi.

The interior is simple and homely reduced only to the essentials. Nevertheless, the rooms look cozy and warm.

How to implement Japandi Interior

Simple shapes and colors

The basic rule is: simple forms. This applies equally to furniture and accessories. Striking shapes or colors have lost nothing in this interior trend. Since the individual parts are all very simple, they can be combined as the mood takes you.

Flashy patterns and colors are taboo. Black, white, gray, brown tones and one or the other small color accent take their place. If it may be color, then strong. Thus, green, brown and eggplant are often used for walls or pictures.

Decoration: Less is more

If you are a fan of figurines and knickknacks, you will not be able to identify with the interior trend. In Japanese and Scandinavian living, flashy accessories are not desired. No wonder there's none of that in the combination of the two either.

Use some small highlights wisely and keep it very simple.

A very distinctive feature of the new style of living are black details in the form of accessories or furniture such as a stool. This gives the room a calming aura and visual depth.

Japandi combines craftsmanship from the East and the North. Handmade tableware, vases and accessories in classic colors bring a unique touch to our four walls.

Filigree furniture at Japandi

Gone are the days of bulky cabinets and solid table legs. The furniture becomes filigree and thus provides pure elegance. Functionality and simplicity is the motto.

Pure nature in your own four walls

In both styles, the use of natural materials plays a major role. Scandinavia tends to use light wood, while Japan uses dark wood, bamboo and stone. With Japandi you can mix these two styles.

The furniture itself is low. This allows multifunctional room arrangement, which makes it possible to restructure the rooms at any time without much effort.

A combination of classics and heirlooms

You already know minimalism from your closet or the beauty trend "Skinimalism". The idea of "away from consumption" also applies to Japandi. You do without unnecessary purchases and clear out what doesn't really need to be there. Instead of owning a lot, what you have is a design classic. This is combined with personal heirlooms.

The following applies to furniture: The function must be recognizable at first glance. Functionality and visually clearly recognizable automatically lead to restraint when it comes to furnishings. In addition, this brings a lot of elegance.
