Stuffed eggs chicks: 3 fun ideas for hard boiled eggs

In total, I'll show you three different variations: a stuffed chick with egg spread and a hard-boiled egg transformed into an adorable chick with carrots - here once with just feet and once with a comb and face.

The stuffed egg with spread

Stuffed eggs not only look delicious, they taste really delicious. Today we turn hard-boiled eggs into chicks. In the photo you can see this recipe on the bottom right and top left.

This is what you need for 1 chick:

  • 1 hard egg
  • 1 tablespoon sour cream
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 piece of carrot for the beak
  • 2 peppercorns

Here's how:

Important: The egg must be completely cooled before you continue working with it.

Peel the egg by first tapping the shell on the tabletop to damage it. After peeling, wash the egg to remove any small pieces of shell.

Head the egg in the upper quarter. If you want, you can also do this with a zigzag cut, but it is much more laborious and requires a very steady hand.

Pick the yolk out of the egg with a teaspoon. You must be very careful here not to damage the egg white.

Mix the egg yolks with salt, pepper and sour cream in a bowl. Stir until you have a nice uniform mass.

Is the egg yolk not yellow enough? Then add a little curry powder or turmeric.

Now fill the yolk mixture back into the egg. Either with a spoon or a piping bag. Your chick now gets two pepper eyes and a carrot beak.

If you like, you can trim the bottom of the egg a bit to make it stand up better and not fall over.

The hard boiled egg with legs

This idea for hard boiled eggs is made in no time. All you need is a carrot and 1 egg.

Here's how:

Peel the egg and cut legs from a carrot. To do this, cut a 5 cm piece of the peeled carrot. Now cut it in half lengthwise.

And from it carefully with a sharp knife cut the legs for your chick.

Cut two small X's in the egg with the knife and put the legs in here. That's it. Already your hard boiled egg can walk :)

Proud chicks with carrot comb

Alternatively, you can also make a nice comb instead of legs. Or combine both. This is a little more elaborate, but can also be done within 10 minutes.

What you need:

  • 1 hard egg
  • 1 piece carrot
  • 2 peppercorns

Here's how:

Cut a thin slice from a peeled carrot. Now simply cut triangles from the slice until the carrot looks like a star.

Pick up a triangle. Peel the hard egg. Cut a slit in the top of the egg. This is where the carrot comb goes in. Put the carrot star into the slit.

Use the knife to make three small slits in the egg for the eyes and the beak. Now add the pepper and the carrot. Done :)

And here, as promised, is the short version for the stuffed chick.
